2 more finishes

Two more off the UFO list! The red/tan/blue one was a mystery quilt started summer 2006. Mom offered to pay for longarming services if she got to keep the almost double quilt at her house. Since it will go in the bedroom I stay in when i'm there I told her to go for it. The batick diamonds one was started from a stack of nickels from a swap while I was in Germany. The swap was in 2004 but I did not start sewing on them until last fall. So i'm not sure how to exactly classify the age of this UFO. Regardless, its done!!! It does not have a home yet, just shelf space in the "just in case" closet. I dont know if you will be able to see the flowers i free-hand quilted in the border but they didn't turn out half bad, maybe i'll get brave enough to do more of them! Thanks for the suggestions Chutem!!

closest thing to a garden

This is as close to a garden as i can get. If you look you can see my tomatoes and peppers mixed in with my flowers. There is a long pot with onions in it up on the porch.

This is the whole front yard with all my pots. We are not allowed to dig holes in the ground while we live on base so this is as good as it gets.

These are my potatoes in the back yard. I was told that you can put 8-12 in of dirt in the bottom of the cans, plant the taters, then add more dirt as they grow. The soil is about 8 in from the top of the cans now. The potatoes are growing wonderfully, but i have no idea what i'll get when i dump them out this fall.

Andy's wedding

This has been the big excitement lately. My little cousin got married(finally!). He and his new bride had a wonderful ceremony and reception. Nothing fancy but very beautiful.
